Alarming

When i was in middle school my mother and i fought constantly over my ability to sleep in through any alarm, how she always had to wake me up to make sure i was ready to go, and how i kept waking up late for the bus. That was 2012/2013. For the last 13-14 years I have had the same sonic alarm clock and it has faithfully shaken inside a metal bucket while screaming at me and flashing lights into my eyes from across the room. As of May 2026, my sleep started to become less disrupted in the morning and has led to me being late to work. One of the two morning alarms has stopped working entirely. It feels like I'm losing an old friend that I used to roll out of bed quickly to slap as hard as I can. Returning customer, and may even buy a backup in case this happens again in another 15 years and this company no longer operates.
